Action buttons on boards

I am not one to be formal, but it's time to button up your Boards!

We are excited to be introducing Action buttons on Boards, which can be used for navigation to different Boards, launching imports into Blocks, and external links!

KPI upgrades including multiple KPIs

KPIs now support multiple cells!  We made a few improvements to how you can leverage KPIs including;
  • Applying conditional Formatting to KPIs
  • Displaying additional cells as CI/SVA
  • automatically having side-by-side KPIs when selecting multiple Scenarios
  • display multiple metrics of a Table without creating multiple views

Pro tip: Application variables used as CI/SVA KPIs (Variance KPIs) are updated dynamically!

Amateur tip: KPIs stand for Key Performance Indicator.

Filters available on Block Explorer

Now you can apply filters on your Blocks from Block Explorer!

This will allow you to easily identify Shared Status for Blocks, as well as more advanced features for Metrics and Tables.

In Metrics, you can identify the Data Type, Formula status, including if overrides are on, and even the Dimensions in the structure.

Tables allow you to select a Metric and see which Tables it's used in!

Pigment now has a connector for Amazon Redshift

Pigment is excited to release a new connector for Amazon Redshift that allows you to import directly from the database or cluster.

You can read more about it here or search within our Connectors section on our community!

If you did a search outside our community you might also learn that Redshift is also a term used by astronomers when light is stretched and shifted to the red part of the spectrum. 🌈 The more you know 🌈

New Formula Playground Permission

Pigment now has a dedicated Formula Playground Permission that will allow anyone to try their hand at working with Pigment formulas.  Users can be given this permission to explore their data in new ways while also learning about Pigment formulas!

Users with this permission will still need the Configure Block permission to be able to create Metrics.

Order Page Selectors

Your order is on its way! This time, it's not from online shopping, even better. It's the ability to order your page selectors on Boards.

When editing a Board, click on the page options icon, then you can drag and drop your page selectors in the order you want them.

As new page selectors get added they will show up at the end but you can always adjust. The order of page selectors within a widget can be controlled by their order from the pivot of the saved view

Inputs and Imports populate across all Scenarios at the same time

Keep your Metric's Inputs and Imports in sync across All Scenarios with this latest setting, Inputs and Imports populate data across All Scenarios.

Now you can say "Bye Bye Bye" to the days of having to input the same data across every Scenario within a Metric.

Once activated, your Imports and Inputs will populate data across every Scenario, this I promise you.

This setting works with formula overrides, so overrides are applied to every Scenario.

Formula playground formatting

Playgrounds are fun, but having to recreate your view when you launch the formula playground from a metric is not fun.

Those days are gone! Now, opening the formula playground from a metric will launch with your saved view settings.

Launching from a table? Then the formula playground will take on the default view.

Import into multiple Scenarios!

Pop quiz. There's a file to import, but you want this data to go across multiple scenarios. What do you do? What do you do!?

You use the new Import in multiple scenarios functionality, that's what you do!

Speed is on your side now when importing into an Application with Scenarios. You can choose multiple scenarios to import into, don't worry, it will not import into Read-only Scenarios.

Sometimes, it doesn't matter the Scenario, the data is always the same.

Set Page Selectors from Charts!

This new way of changing pages is off the chart!

If you have a dimension as a Page selector, that is also on a chart, you can click on any item from that chart and hit Set as Page to set that item as a page selector.

If your chart is displaying multiple dimensions as page selectors, it will apply to all of them.
